Winners! And a Sale!

Festive bullie.

Actually, I tried to find a photo of a robin in a party hat because Robins seem to be lucky today!  The winner of eight of my micro macrame tutorials is Robin B. and Robin P. is the winner of the Drunkard's Path micro macrame bracelet!

Drunkard's Path micro macrame bracelet by Sherri Stokey of Knot Just Macrame.

I also promised to give away a copy of my peacock bracelet tutorial and the winner is... Sue!  (Bet you thought it was going to be Robin, didn't you?)  I've emailed the Robins and replied to Sue's comment - I'll need to know where to send the prizes!

Meanwhile, for the rest of you... how about a sale?  Use coupon code "TENOFF" in my Etsy shop for 10% off anything and everything.  I don't do sales very often, so if you've had your eye on something, now is your chance.  The fine pint:  code expires 9/8/15 and is not valid on previous purchases or custom orders.  Hope you find something you can't live without!

Micro Macrame Giveaways! Have you Entered?

Just in case you missed it, you still have time to throw your name in the hat(s) for the giveaways I have underway!  The first one is for the micro macrame bracelet shown above.  It's my new Drunkard's Path pattern done up in dark gold cord with beads of turquoise and gold.  Great colors for fall that will carry you through into winter.  Heck, these are my summer colors, too!  If you'd like a chance to win this bracelet, enter here:

For those of you who've been testing the waters and doing some knotting on your own, I have another giveaway I hope you might like.  It includes all eight of my downloadable tutorials, including instructions for six different bracelets (yes, I'm a bracelet kind of girl), earrings and (insert drum roll here) a macrame owl pendant!  Yes, I went there.  Every macrame should have an owl behind it.

Anyway, one lucky person is going to win all eight of these, so if you'd like that person to be you, you will want to enter here:

If you've already entered both of those, not to fear.  As I'm writing this, I'm feeling sorry for anyone who got their hopes all up for a new giveaway only to discover the ongoing ones... so I'm doing one more giveaway.  I'm such a pushover.  We'll call this one a consolation prize :)

My latest tutorial on Etsy is for this beaded micro macrame bracelet.  I called it Peacock because it reminds me of the eyes on peacock feathers, but if you switch the colors up, you can get a whole different vibe:

If you've stuck with me this far and you want a chance to win this tutorial, just leave a comment below.  I'll pick a winner on August 31, 2015 when I choose winners for the other two giveaways.  Good luck & happy knotting!!

It's GIVEAWAY Time!

Giveaway: Micro Macrame bracelet made by Sherri Stokey of Knot Just Macrame.

Recently, Marta from Shanti Free Bird contacted me about giving away one of my micro macrame bracelets on her blog.  I usually have to say "no" to these requests (or I'd go broke!) but after spending some time reading her blog, I could not resist.  She is such an interesting person and leads such a fascinating life!  I am in awe (and a bit jealous, I must admit).

I challenge you to read a few of her posts like this one:  Bundi Festival in India and not be inspired and enchanted by her enthusiasm.  I mean seriously:

Shanti Free Bird - camel in the Sahara

She's ridden a camel in the Sahara and gone boating on the canals of Amsterdam:

Shanti Free Bird - biking in Laos

She's gone biking through Laos and traveled to Asia.  Alone!  She says people are more likely to approach you when you are by yourself, so you are never really alone.  This is her at a wedding in India demonstrating that theory:

Her sense of adventure is exhilarating and intoxicating!  I'll be following along on her blog, waiting for her next trip and I hope you'll join me.

Meanwhile, she is sponsoring a giveaway of one of my micro macrame bracelets.  You can find all the details here on her blog.  And just in case you've gotten sidetracked with me, dreaming of foreign places, and have forgotten which bracelet is being given away, I'll leave you with a reminder:

Good luck and happy travels!

It's My Party But the Gifts Are For YOU!

Established in 1964

Yep, this is the big one, folks... the dreaded half-century mark.  I've spent more than a few minutes trying to figure out how the heck this happened.  I mean, sure, I knew I'd get old eventually.  I just didn't know it was going to happen quite so quickly.  Somehow the little sands in my hourglass started falling faster and faster and faster and then all of the sudden - POOF!  I'm fifty (pronounced "fiddy" to make it sound more hip and less old).  I'm still trying to process this whole development and decide just how to deal with it.  Part of me wants to go with this:

50

But mostly, this is how I feel:

Old on the outside

Either way, I guess I have no say in the matter.  It is what it is, so let's make the best of it!  PARTY!  Since I can't afford to fly you all here to celebrate with me, here's the alternative:  I'm having a sale.  Now, before you think "big deal, a sale...", stick with me for a minute.  In honor of my 50th birthday, it seems appropriate to have a 50% off sale on all the tutorials in my Etsy shop!

50% off sale

Yep, that's half off any and all of the tutorials listed in my Etsy Shop, so if there are any you've had your eye on, this is your chance!  But this is a BIG birthday, so I think we need more sale...  How about a discount on top of that?  (By the way, you don't need a code for the 50% off tutorials - they are already marked down for you.)  I'm thinking we'll do an extra 10% off orders over $30 or 15% off orders over $50 (there's that number again!) or 20% off orders over $100!!!  Here are all the codes from which to choose:

Coupon codes

The small print (in regular size print, actually, because we 50-year-olds can't read that itty bitty stuff):  code must be entered at checkout to receive the discount, not applicable to previous orders, codes expire at midnight on 3/24/2014.

Now back to the PARTY!  What's a party without a gift?  I think we should have a giveaway gift, so here it is:

Micro macrame owl necklace by Sherri Stokey of Knot Just Macrame

This little guy is about 4.25" from the top of his head to the bottom of the tail (tassel?).  I knotted him in nylon bead cord in a light and a dark purple and chartreuse green for some fun.  He's got tagua nut beads for eyes and a sweet little rice pearl for a beak.  The length of the necklace is 16.5" (not including the owl pendant) and the lobster clasp is sterling silver.  Want another look?

Micro macrame owl necklace Giveaway

Yes, folks, this handy-dandy, super-duper, one of a kind (so far at least), original design from Sherri Stokey of Knot Just Macrame micro macrame owl necklace is going to belong to one of you when this party is finished.  And you don't even have to stay and help clean up to win him.  Just enter with the widget below and when March 26th rolls around, I'll pick one lucky winner.  Good luck!

Micro Macrame Wrap Bracelet Class and Kit Giveaway!

Giveaway kit for Micro Macrame Wrap Bracelet eClass by Sherri Stokey

Just in case you didn't hear me shouting it from the rooftops, I've got a new eClass available for micro macrame and I'm very excited about it!  So exited, in fact, that I'm going to give away a class and a kit to go along with it to one lucky winner.

My class is called Micro Macrame Wrap Bracelet and it's available on CraftArtEdu.com.  If you aren't familiar with CraftArtEdu.com, let me give you the skinny.  Their goal is to make learning about your favorite medium more accessible and convenient than ever.  Their classes have step-by-step instructions and are presented by world-renowned craft and fine art instructors.  The classes are all the time, at your convenience.  Once you purchase a class, you can view it as many times as you want, for as long as you want.  AND your satisfaction is guaranteed.  If you're not happy, they will refund your money.  That's their promise.  Sounds like a fantastic site, doesn't it!  They have over 400 classes there - something for all levels and interests.  I'm honestly flattered that they wanted to add my micro macrame to their curriculum.

I've got two classes available right now.  The first is Micro Macrame 101 and it's free.  In it, I've covered  the basics about micro macrame and the tools and materials you need.  The Micro Macrame Wrap class follows after that and is geared for beginners.  I will teach you how to make five of the most common macrame knots, while making a fun wrap bracelet.  This class is meant to get you acquainted with knotting and working with cord.  The next step will be a class I hope to have available next week that will take you further into micro macrame, using finer cord and more knots.

But let's get back to the giveaway, shall we?  I'm giving one lucky person access to my wrap class for free AND everything needed to make a wrap bracelet similar to this:

The kit I'm giving away includes everything in the first photo of this post.  I've included 14 foot lengths of Tex 400 cord in teal and a sandy beige, wood beads, a Bollywood bead, rolled paper, seed beads, dichroic glass beads AND some artist beads.  There's a great lampwork piece by Mitosis glass and a polymer class turtle bead by Ke Robinson:

And the toggle clasp is fun, too.  It's a silver starfish toggle with crystal accents.

These pieces should make a great bracelet.  So how do you win?  Use the rafflecopter widget below to enter.  Then check back here on Thursday, July 18th to see if you won!

I designed this quirky charm bracelet around the pretty cameo portrait and added lovely flowers in black Lucite and orange Czech glass.  And a a bat charm, a black cat, a few skulls and skeleton claws... Pretty and creepy at the same time.  Creepily pretty?  Prettily creepy?  You can read more about it and see more photos in this blog post.

Enough said.  I've given you several ways to enter - your choice on how many or few you'd like to do!  PS - I'm getting creamed by little woven bead ghostie earrings AND an eyeball.  Go vote, will ya?  Vote Here!

Dragon Bracelet Giveaway

Yep, you read it right!  I'm thinking it's time for a little giveaway, and a little not-so-formal poll of folks on my Facebook page says THIS is the piece.  So here's the deal:  I'll give away one custom made (meaning I'll make it for the winner in the right length for YOU!) beaded macrame dragon bracelet.  It will have the ever-popular antiqued copper dragon button focal and swirls of seed beads in the perfectly-coordinated color Matte Metallic Khaki Iris.  I'll even put a clasp on it for ya, because, hey, that's just the way I roll.  AND... because there were a few dissenters on the poll, if you win and you don't want this bracelet, I'll substitute $25 credit toward something else in my Etsy shop OR a bead soup from my personal (and not insubstantial) stash.  Sound like a deal?
